A Night to Remember

Fuck Nuts! ...... I don't know what to say... been waiting for them almost half of my life........ well for Steve Patrick. Did some nice songs from his old band the Smiths (loved the opening number) "How Soon is Now". It was worth it guys, coming here for your fans.....it did revive me, rouse me from my slumber. This could never happen again ....what could I say but Thank You. You've been a part of my growing up life and will always be a fan. Salamat Morrisey.

Dog Poop Wifi

What would you do for free Wi-Fi? Mexican Internet provider Terra has teamed up with ad agency DDB to offer free Wi-Fi in public parks to dog owners who clean up after their pets.

As seen in the absurd promo vid below, owners who deposit poop in the special bins in 10 parks in Mexico City will be rewarded with free Wi-Fi, broadcast through routers shaped like doggy bones.

The more you add, the more minutes you and everyone else gets. The bins seem to have a simple scale to weigh the poop, so they would likely still work if people put rocks or trash in them instead.

But the "Poo Wifi" campaign apparently will have staffers present at the bins during the daytime to make sure poop goes in.

It's one more way in which waste is being put to good use, along with poop-powered zoo carts and biogas production.

I haven't visited parks in Mexico City lately, so I can't judge how dire the poop situation is. Would your local park benefit from Wi-Fi, poop-style? Do you even want Wi-Fi in your park?

How about human poo? Shit ang baho nun......

Recycle Yourself: Facebook to promote organ donations

WASHINGTON — Facebook on Tuesday unveiled an initiative to use the vast social network to connect organ donors with people who need life-saving transplants.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg made the announcement and became one of the first Facebook users to sign up on the social network to be an organ donor.

Members of Facebook in the United States and Britain can now indicate that they are organ donors on their timelines, and if they are not donors, they can find links to official organ donation registries and instantly enroll.

“Facebook is really about communicating and telling stories,” Zuckerberg told ABC News.

“We think that people can really help spread awareness of organ donation and that they want to participate in this to their friends. And that can be a big part of helping solve the crisis that’s out there.”

Zuckerberg said he was motivated to launch the program by conversations with his girlfriend, who is a medical student, and his friendship with Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, whose life was extended by a liver transplant.

“We want to make it simple,” said Zuckerberg. “You just put in the state or country that you’re from, so that we can help link you to the official registries.”

In the “health and wellness” section of users’ timelines, users can list their status as organ donors and explain the decision to their friends, in an effort to raise awareness about the need for donors.

“Today, more than 114,000 people in the United States, and millions more around the globe, are waiting for the heart, kidney or liver transplant that will save their lives,” Zuckerberg said in a statement with Facebook chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg.

An estimated 18 people die every day from the lack of available organs, according to Donate Life America, a nonprofit alliance that is partnering with Facebook.

“We can’t thank Facebook enough for the organization’s commitment to helping save lives by encouraging Americans to register as organ, eye and tissue donors… Thousands of lives will be saved or healed as a result of this initiative,” said David Fleming, president and chief executive of Donate Life America.

“We want to encourage every Facebook user to take a moment and update their timeline, register to be a donor, and share their decision with family and friends. It is a simple way to provide hope for those in need.”

Zuckerberg, 27, who is known for avoiding the public limelight, disclosed some details of his personal life in the ABC interview, describing his chats with girlfriend Priscilla Chan that helped lead to the donation initiative.

“She’s in medical school now,” Zuckerberg said of Chan. “She’s going to be a pediatrician, so our dinner conversations are often about Facebook and the kids that she’s meeting.”

He told ABC that Chan told him about patients she meets “getting sicker as they don’t have the organ that they need” and other fortunate cases where children ultimately received transplants. Zuckerberg called the accounts “unbelievable.”

Describing one case of a boy needing a heart transplant, Chan told Zuckerberg the boy’s skin had turned blue from lack of oxygen, but within weeks of receiving a transplant he was out again playing sports.

“How can that not make you happy?” he said.

Zuckerberg also said the death of Jobs, whom he called a “friend,” helped inspire the project.

“That definitely, I think, was something that we all had in mind as we were building this out,” Zuckerberg said. “His story is just one of many, of people who both were able to have an organ transplant that made his life longer and he was extremely thankful for that.”

Jobs died on October 5 of pancreatic cancer at the age of 56. But his life was extended by a liver transplant in 2009 that enabled him to return to the helm of Apple.

The number of people using Facebook had risen to 901 million by the end of the quarter, according to company documents.

Facebook is expected to make its much-anticipated stock market debut in the coming weeks in a public offering which could raise as much as $10 billion, the largest flotation ever by an Internet company on Wall Street.

Zuckerberg declined to comment on the IPO plans due to securities rules, but the Dow Jones website All Things Digital reported that Facebook expects to get approval this week to distribute its prospectus, which would move the process closer to launching.

Morrissey Live in Manila 2012

Steven Patrick Morrissey, known as Morrissey, is the main lyricist and vocalist of the iconic band, The Smiths. The Smiths is considered the most important alternative rock band to emerge from the British independent music scene in the 1980s, behind the hits Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want, Stop Me If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before, There Is a Light That Never Goes Out, the former song famously covered by Zooey Deschanel’s indie band She & Him and the latter song was featured in the soundtrack of (500) Days of Summer. English DJ Mark Ronson recomposed Stop Me If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before as a soulful disco track.

According to Scott Timberg, a critic from The LA Times, Morrissey “patented the template for modern indie rock, first as the frontman for seminal mope-pop band The Smiths and then during his ongoing… solo career.” He also goes on to say that the ‘90s Britpop movement and the emphasis on an English lineage of bands like Oasis, Blur and Pulp stemmed from The Smiths as well as the playful twist to the traditional notions of gender and sexuality of bands like Suede, Bloc Party and The Magnetic Fields.

How sooooooon is Now? I hope he does not forget to bring his Jagger.....or else. Gillette ang pagagamit ko sa kanya....lol :)

Enjoy New Wavers....

Lorax

The cute movie is about Ted Wiggins, a 12-year-old boy, who lives in Thneedville, where each and everything is artificial and made of plastic, except for the natives, of course! He falls in love with a girl named Audrey, whose wish is to see a real tree! And as it always happens, the guy would do anything to impress his ladylove! Phew, gone are the times when girls said they wanted stars and the moon! Wink.

Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax is based on the namesake children’s book by Dr. Seuss himself! The best part is that the film will release in 3D! Those of you who have seen Despicable Me 3D can expect another ‘rollercoaster’ ride in this animation flick from the same makers.

Don’t miss the Cuteeeee trailer below and some official images from the movie on the following pages.

A Ghost in Heat

I remember once that my husband and I were arguing about the paranormal. Specifically ghosts that haunt the living. He was a wee bit scared sleeping in my ancestral home.
Let me give you a background of our home sweet home. I live in a 39 year old house inside a compound. There are 5 houses in a row each facing another group of 5 houses. It was said that the place, where our compound was housed, was haunted. This was the place where Katipunero soldiers passed to get to Balintawak. This was a forest where ambushes and battles took place. Thus there were many people who lost their lives here. Even the maids in our house told us of their own experiences with the ghosts that haunt the house.
So my husband will was not so keen in sleeping in the house. His third eye was slightly if not reluctantly open. He used to experience and see ghosts wherever he went and in the places he lived.

We were already getting ready to go to sleep. We were lazing away in bed just watching the television. He said that since he began sleeping in the house a week ago he had never experienced any sighting. He said he was lucky - maybe. I was teasing him and said maybe the ghost in the house did not like him enough to warrant a look see. He turned off the television and snuggled deeper into the covers. The air conditioning was on. I also fixed my pillow and snuggled and positioned my self getting ready to go to bed. He then turned to me - a little pale. He said “Honey there is something sitting at the end of the bed next to me.” I answered back that it was just his imagination getting the better of him. He said that he felt the bed sag on his side. I turned toward him and just embraced him reassuring him that it was just one of the ghost saying hello.

I was so used to having a ghost or “dwende” in my room. Each room in the house has its own entity residing in it. Each a unique paranormal entity. I have never really been bothered with them since they have never hurt anyone in the house hold. They are felt, heard and sometimes seen by the people living in the house.

My husband just asked me to keep my arms around him. Embracing and reassuring him that nothing would happen to him. So I guess we were already noding off to sleep since I remember that I was already somewhat dreaming. He suddenly shook me to wake me up. He said wide eyed “Honey it’s not near the end of the bed anymore. It’s touching my penis.” With that we both sat up. I told him the best way is just to say a prayer. I took the holy water that I keep in the room for emergencies - like this. I sprayed the whole room more on the bed. I was hoping that the entity - who or whatever it was would be cooled by the spray of holy water.

We prayed then lay on the bed and pulled up the blanket. We slept and next thing I knew I woke up to see the rays of the sun passing through the curtains of my room. It was already morning.

Positioning.

We need to pray for our country and for our government. This early, the powers that be are already positioning themselves for the midterm elections of May 2013. All these years, political power has revolved around the same personalities and families. The way I see it, Philippine politics has been so locked out for the longest time. We need some qualitatively new way of doing politics in our country.

Based on the acclaimed novel of the same name, "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" tells the story of one young boy's journey from heartbreaking loss to the healing power of self-discovery, set against the backdrop of the tragicevents of September 11. Eleven-year-old Oskar Schell is an exceptional child: amateur inventor, Francophile, pacifist. And after finding a mysterious key that belonged to his father, who died in the World Trade Center on 9/11, he embarks on an exceptional journey--an urgent, secret search through the five boroughs of New York. As Oskar roams the city, he encounters a motley assortment of humanity, who are all survivors in their own ways. Ultimately, Oskar's journey ends where it began, but with the solace of that most human experience: love.

Feel Good movie... shed a tear or two. ;)

Paano nga ba Magmahal?

Paano nga ba magmahal?

The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is to love and be loved in return.

Lahat naman tayo nabubuhay sa gitna ng pagbabakasali, to love is to risk sabi nga nila. Expect the unexpected. Masarap magmahal. Masakit masaktan.

Pero, talaga bang ganyan pag nagmahal ka?

May isang akong kaibigan, sabi nya dati "Love is only for stupid people".

Pero sabi nga nila- Time heals.

Iniisip mo bang nakakalungkot mag-isa?

So, paano nga ba ako magmahal?- Di ko alam.

Tabi-tabi muna kayo baka may matamaan! =)

I stopped reading.

I read smoking was bad so I stopped smoking, I read drinking was bad so i stopped drinking, I read sex was bad so I stopped reading. Hmmmm...

Bilbiling

Have you ever experienced being locked out of your room or of your car? It is such a frustrating feeling, or have you been denied access to something because you did not qualify? Have you experienced being denied access to someone, and was not being heard or welcomed? May we not give such a feeling to whoever come seeking us. May our doors not be locked to people who disturb our comfort and convenient zones.
